Welcome to Work-Integrated Learning at UC! We are excited to partner with you on your WIL journey. Read on to find useful resources for preparing for your experience, and making the most of your placement.
There are many WIL activities available across campus - the right one for you will depend on what you have chosen to study. Depending on your programme of study, there are specific WIL courses that you will be required to integrate into your degree structure e.g., Teacher Education, Social Work, Counselling, and Engineering. WIL experiences may be encountered under different names, such as practicums, internships, case-based learning, or industry competition. WIL opportunities may include work placements (e.g., industry, community, iwi, government, online and/or simulated workplace environments) or work-related projects (e.g., final-year projects, community-based work, assessable study components, or industry case competitions).
Where there is not a WIL course within your programme, the PACE Programme could be for you - we offer bespoke internship opportunities, regardless of the study discipline (as long as it can fit within your degree structure).
