ղ첹ū: Preparing for UC

03 February 2025

Get to know UC before study though this optional online course.

HOW TO APPLY

In te reo Māori, takatū means "to prepare" and that's exactly what ղ첹ū: Preparing for UC does — prepare you for your first semester at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | سԹ.

What is ղ첹ū?

ղ첹ū is an optional, online course for anyone new to UC or considering enrolling.

You will be introduced to our processes, expectations, and support services that will help you get off to a great start before beginning study.

The course is open to school leavers, adults, international students, first-in-whānau students, and distance students.

What does it involve?

ղ첹ū is made up of five online modules designed based on student feedback — what was their first-year experience like, what advice do they have, and what do incoming students need to know? The answers to these questions are what ղ첹ū is all about.

ղ첹ū covers:
  1. The student journey leading up to the first semester at UC.
  2. UC systems, essential terminology, and academic expectations.
  3. Our student support services and resources.
  4. Tips for maintaining wellbeing, making connections, and managing your time at UC.
  5. UC's campus, community, and a bit of our history.

Sign up for ղ첹ū

You can take the ղ첹ū course whether you are just starting study at UC, or have yet to enrol.
