In conjunction with colleagues in Te Kura Umanga | UC Business School and the wider University, the Department delivers courses for the degrees ofBCom,BCom (Hons),MCom,PhD,MPA,MBIS,MBAandMEMprogrammes. Our learning programmes help students to develop into highly qualified professionals. In addition, our accounting graduates meet the membership entry education requirements of professional accounting bodies such as,,, and.
Courses are clustered according to several functional areas:

- Management Accounting and Control
- Design and Development of Business IT solutions
- Business Intelligence and Analytics
- Digital Transformation
- Business Law
- Taxation
Although diverse, all these areas focus on the use of resources, data, and technology to transform and design smarter work practices to create and deliver value in businesses, organisations, social enterprises, and the community. At postgraduate level, courses are research-informed and research-oriented, often leading to publishing original ideas and creating real-life business solutions.
Our staff perform impactful research, collaborate with international scholars, engage with industry partners and communities, carry out contemporary curriculum design and teaching. A significant result of the staff pursuits are high quality publications, close relationships with employers, international academic recognition. They lead to applications and innovations in industry, commerce, governments, and people's lives.

Our people
The Department comprises about 20 highly motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, and knowledgeable staff. Their offices are located on the 4th and 5th floors of the Meremere Building. Most of the time they are to be seen elsewhere – presenting lectures, conducting research (that informs their teaching), chairing seminars, speaking at international conferences, workshops, seminars, and symposia, and much more.
