Programme Information
International expansion provides a key opportunity for firms to grow but it is a process that can be fraught with challenges, especially those associated with adapting to a new environment.
Focussing on Japan, you will explore the cultural differences that may require adaptation at an individual level, utilising the cultural intelligence framework as a tool to identify and develop strategies for navigating these. In addition, you will examine management control systems as an area that can require organisational adjustments, undertaking a project reviewing the management control systems of a client in the New Zealand-Japan context.
While the study tour component is one-week long, the course also consists of workshops, activities and assessment items beforehand and afterwards.
During the study tour, you will be based in Tokyo, with a day trip to Kyoto also planned.
