Kia ora and Salaam! Lets get on board for Unity Week. This years theme is Unity begins with U!
Set up by seven women who lost loved ones in the March 15 terror attacks, Unity Week is a time for us to come together and reconnect with each other - just like we did in 2019.
Sakinah Community Trust began Unity Week in 2022 and were delighted to say the feedback for #unityweeknz has been amazing.
Angela Armstrong and Raesha Ismail are two of Sakinahs trustees who are also students and staff from Te Kaupeka Oranga | Faculty of Health.
Angela lost her mum in the attacks and since then has been inspired to complete her Masters in Writing where she will share her mothers story. Angela is also part of the Healths admin team.
Raesha lost her brother in the attacks. She completed her Master of Counselling over 2019 and 2020 where she found a way to offer hope and healing to others. Raesha is now a lecturer for the post graduate certificate in counselling on Level 3 Rehua at UC.
