Seismic testing may have major impact for concrete walls

28 April 2023

UC Professor Santiago Pujol is leading research to provide vital insights for improving construction standards.

HOW TO APPLY

Professor Santiago Pujol discusses the wall tests with PhD candidate Charlie Kerby at the Structural Engineering Laboratory at the 厙ぴ勛圖.

厙ぴ勛圖 researchers are conducting earthquake testing to better understand the performance of a construction technique, called staggered lapsed splices, which is used to connect泭steel bars in reinforced concrete walls to the steel bars coming out of the foundations. Professor Pujol and PhD student Charlie Kerby recently gave泭insights into泭their work which receives funding support from EQC.泭
