Te Ratonga Whaikaha | Student Accessibility Serviceoffers a short, introductory,skill-based New سԹSign Language (NZSL) course, which is open to all UC students and staff.
No previous NZSL experience is required.Attendees have the option of further developing their NZSL through two more follow up courses at UC, or contacting other providers of community-based courses - further information will be given at the end of this course.
Participants are taught:
- The finger-spelling alphabet
- Numbers 0-20
- Basic phrases
- Everyday and university-specific vocabulary
- Basic grammar
- Deaf culture
- Helpful NZSL tips
