Studying towards a PhD in Education
Chief Executive, Monitr
"Im looking at ways to use athletes data to reduce injuries. Right now athletes wear some very clever devices that gather a whole range of metrics such as distance covered and top speeds. I get to take all this information and find ways to use it. I love it because Im helping athletes get to a stage where theyre reaching their potential. Its not a dust collector PhD!
Id always wanted to turn my research into something I can apply in the real world. I stumbled across the Centre of Entrepreneurships start-up programme. We did a pitch competition and won. We also won the entr矇 85K startup challenge for our product called Komodo Monitr and received $17,500 cash and $10,000 of in-kind services."
