HIT Lab NZ has been operating since 2002 and is recognised internationally as a leader in Human Interface Technology research and education.
Our mission is to support and empower people through the study, invention, development and dissemination of knowledge, technologies and processes that solve human interface technology problems and have a positive social impact in a globally-aware context.
Human Interface Technology takes a human-centred approach to the analysis, design, and development of interactive and emerging technologies. Our research explores how people use these technologies with the end goal of improving the user experience.
HIT Lab NZ researchers work on projects with technologies such as applied games, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence, and haptics. They use their expertise to collaborate with many sectors including health, education, high-performance sports, gaming, disaster management, transportation, environment, and tourism.
