Before beginning the embroidery of��Untitled [Table Cloth with Assisi Border]�����which isalso part of the Macmillan Brown Collection ��� a precise pattern was required to ensure no mistakes would be made during its execution. Due to the design���s symmetrical nature, it was only necessary to plan one corner on gridded paper. The pattern has been outlined precisely, and coloured where necessary in wash ��� with a few mistakes blanked out in twink. It is an example of the rigorous pattern that was required of embroidery students at the Canterbury College School of Art.
